DescriptionThis hooded short cloak is constructed of red silk with a woven pattern of small, isolated roses. The edges and neckline are trimmed with white bobbin lace with a floral pattern. The lining is very thin white silk. The hood is shaped by pleats radiating from the center back. The cloak opens at the front, probably originally tied with a ribbon (now missing) that would have been threaded through the channel formed by the neckband.1775-1810
