DescriptionBroad circular bowl with drawn and applied molded rim, short convex sides, and rounded base with overall circular perforations of uniform size in the form of a six-petaled flower; long opposed cast openwork handles composed of foliated scroll and horizontally placed to rim of bowl. Uninscribed as to owner.Label TextA similar strainer with shorter handles of about 1750 by Edward Aldridge is part of the Carter family silver at Shirley, Charles City County, Virginia. Another strainer of similar form of 1773/74 by Charles Aldridge and Henry Green is also in the Colonial Williamsburg collection (see accession 1967-170).
