DescriptionA rectangular foot with milled border of anthemia and four cast animal paw feet supports a seamed rectanular cushion-shaped body with canted corners; ornamented with a milled border of roses at the shoulder and a milled border of shells at the upper rim of body; two cast C-scroll handles with acanthus leaves; and a low-domed, flat topped lid with hollow cast reclining lion finial. Label TextPhiladelphia silversmith Harvey Lewis is known for bold classical forms ornamented with finely cast components, as seen in this charming lion finial and the lion-paw feet.
