DescriptionChinese export porcelain plate decorated with a coat of arms indicating it was made for John Morgan of Hartford, Connecticut. Painted in blue, green, sepia, and black enamels and gold with the crest and arms of Morgan. Inscribed “Morgan” along the lower right side of the shield with palm fronts, the cavetto surrounded by a blue dotted floret band, the rim with a border of blue scallops, gilt dots, and gilt husks on a blue ground.1790-1800
