DescriptionThis is a cast iron window sash weight with a cotton cord.Label TextMaterials and production methods are good dating tools when looking at structures. This sash weight is made of cast iron, which was more commonly used in the 19th century. Dating to circa 1836, the weight was part of an addition being added by Dr. Robert Garrett to the 1755 house that was built by John Coke.
