Description2 VolumesLabel TextThe Marquis de Chastellux served in the American War for Independence in Rochambeau's French expeditionary force and became a valuable bilingual liaison between Rochambeau and Washington. He remained in America after the end of the war, and upon returning to France, published this account of his travels in America. These volumes contain two different maps with the same title, one as the frontispiece to each volume. These maps were made by M. Dezoteux, who was also involved in the American War and had firsthand experience of most of the places on the map.
