DescriptionOne of a pair of small buckle shoes of sueded brown leather (possibly once black), bound on all edges with the same leather. Oval toe and shaped latchets that end in a point for buckling over squared tongue with rounded corners. Lined with leather and blue-and-white striped linen. Shoes are made as straights, with 1 3/4-inch high leather-covered shaped heel and white leather rand. Closing marks on soles in the shape of small "sun-bursts". Oval silver-colored buckles fastened to flaps were originally knee buckles, and not original to the shoes. Construction History
