DescriptionGlobular form cream-colored earthenware teapot with a strap handle, spout moulded with leaves and highlighted with cobalt and domed lid painted with typical chinoiserie-style designs. One side of the pot painted in cobalt with a woman seated at a table with a teapot and saucers, drinking tea, the scene in a garden-type setting. Inscribed above the scene, "Sally Sikes / Drinking / Tea 1780." The reverse also painted in blue with a house flanked by sponged trees.InscribedOn the body painted in blue script is, "Sally Sikes / Drinking / Tea 1780."
