DescriptionThis is a small crib or cradle quilt shaped like a long rectangle. The quilt was constructed from a fragment of a larger whole cloth quilt. The quilt is made of dark indigo plain-woven woolen backed with yellow-gold plain-woven cotton warp/ woolen weft textile. The batting or filling consists of natural white wool fibers. Running stitches spaced 5 to 6 per inch create a geometric pattern of 7"-wide diamonds. Some of the diamonds are filled with parallel lines creating angled corners; other diamonds are filled with segments of circles drawn from diamond point to point. The overall pattern effect is one of uneven circles filled with angled lines. The edges are finished by having the face fabric folded to the back and stitched down.InscribedNo marks or signatures
