DescriptionRectangular quilt pieced from twill wool textiles in a diamond on point design within rectangular frames in brown, red, and pale grey-blue colors. The quilting consists of spirals, four-petal flowers, and fans, stitched through thick batting and herringbone cotton-and-woolen backing. The batting consists of wool fibers and at least two different blanketing materials, one plain-woven white wool and the other plain-woven cotton-and-wool stripe. The quilting thread is linen and some of the piecing thread is cotton. Quilted with about 4 stitches per inch.ca. 1800; quilted 1825-1850
