DescriptionThis is a rectangular quilt consisting of vertical stripes of bright rose pink ribbed and moired wool about 9 inches wide alternating with olive ribbed wool stripes about 7 3/4 inches wide. The bed cover is quilted with light brown cotton thread in zig-zag rows at 4 to 5 stitches per inch. The backing is natural-color linen warp/ wool weft fabric woven in plain weave. The quilt is bound on three sides with olive color wool twill tape with a long section of similar pink twill tape across one side.Holes and worn areas.
Label TextJudging by its well-worn condition this heavy quilt pieced in stripes using bright pink and olive woolens served years of use. The backing is a textile woven of linen in the warp direction and wool in the weft (crosswise) direction, sometimes referred to as "linsey woolsey."
