Label TextThomas Danforth Boardman, scion of one of America's most prolific pewter-making families, had been in the business for seventy-seven years when he died in 1877. In the first few decades of the nineteenth century, he became known for his fine church wares, as exemplified by this magnificent communion flagon. It carries Boardman's "BX" mark, signifying his best quality metal and workmanship.
