DescriptionPlate with round well, regular serpentine-cut rim, and incised foot ring. Bluish tin glaze decorated in blue with a couple standing under a tall tree in a river landscape with cows; on the reverse, three stylized sprays on the rim and a Q on the base.
Label TextFigures in a landscape with the particular type of tree seen in the decoration on this plate are characteristic of objects in a well-known group of Bristol-made delft. The plate is identical in form, including the unusual shape of the rim, to another plate in the CWF collection (accession 1960-387), suggesting that they were produced from the same mold.
Inscribed"Q" on base.
