DescriptionDressing table box. Shallow, rectangular, sheet-iron box of cyma profile japanned in red and brown tortoiseshell ground wit gilt bands of interlocking circles, trellis and scrolls; the hinged lid set with rectangular enamel plaque depictinga harbor scene of maen at work on beached ship with castle in the background, with yellow, rose, brown and blue on white ground within a giltborder and gilt metal mount, interior of black flecked with gold, the underside of lid set with steel looking glass. Brass lock.
