DescriptionSmall octagonal plate without a foot ring. Whitish tin glaze decorated in polychrome with half-length portraits of William and Mary. Figures outlined in manganese and shaded in blue with touches of orange; wash below figures is manganese over a pale blue.
Label TextOther English delft octagonal plates from the late seventeenth century depict a squatting Chinese figure, a familiar London motif. The London attribution for this example is based on its shape.
