DescriptionLowcut bodice or stays with stomacher-front of steel; boned side and back sections; laced at back (lacing missing); fashioned of apricot silk lampas with brocaded floral design in blue, gold, green, ivory; lined with natural linen and trimmed with leather waist tabs and gold ribbon criss-crossed on stomacher.Construction History:
1. 1740-1760: Initial Construction
2. At a later date during they're use, the shoulder straps were lengthend at the back jointure by the addition of a different silk brocade.
3. the plain taffeta silk ribbon at the lower section of the lacing appears to be a later, but still early addition.
