DescriptionDining table with oval top; quarter round molding at joints of leaves; outer edge of top slightly rounded; straight skirt at each end; one drawer at each end, each with an original brass of scalloped outline and stamped decoration; central section of table supported by 4 straight legs with pointed knee and tapering inward to a pointed pad foot; each leaf supported by 2 gates, each pivoting from center and with leg and foot identical to those on the central section of the table.

Woods: cherry with oak gates and frame, eastern white pine blocks.

ProvenanceGlen-Sanders Collection (see memorandum on history by Robin Hendricks, 9-9-65). Was possibly owned originally by John Sanders I (1714-1782) and Deborah Glen (1721-1786) in their Scotia, NY home. They married in 1739.
