DescriptionRectangular bed cover of cream silk satin, embroidered with multicolor silk satin stitches to form a central flowering tree growing from a jagged mound. All four sides bordered by undulating flowering branches growing from the corners. Three selvage-width panels of 29 1/4", seamed vertically. Most of the needlework was embroidered before the panels were seamed, with a few areas embroidered over the seams. Selvages have yellow twill edges and yellow satin single stripe; irregular pattern of single holes in selvages.ProvenanceGinsburg & Levy.
