Label TextCruet stands, consisting usually of a flat shaped plate elevated on feet with a central handle and an open frame fitted with two glass cruets with silver covers and a set of three casters, appear during the first decade of the eighteenth century. The two wire rings usually mounted on the front of the frame are to accommodate the cruet covers when in use. This example is unusual in having only two casters. The plates supporting the casters are attractively pierced with a flowering urn design.
InscribedUnidentified arms engraved on central post and on body of each caster and on covers of cruets.
