DescriptionAppearance: Ladderback armchair with turned and molded rear posts, decorated with incised lines, topped by high ball finials; three narrow, slightly arched slats form back, top slat pinned to posts; turned arms with same outline of rear posts; front posts slightly swelled and plain above seat, turned below seat in same manner as rear posts, posts topped with large, flat mushroom finial; pair of plain cylindrical front stretchers (replaced), pair of side stretchers turned with swelled and molded ends; single cylindrical rear stretcher; rush seat; chair covered with black paint over original red.Woods: The chair is constructed of maple except for oak seat rails and bottom left stretcher.
