DescriptionApperance: Small rectangular table with overhanging top with rounded edges; straight rails with drawer in one end; drawer has one centered wooden pull; baluster and ring turned legs blocked at junction with stretchers, rounded foot below; turned side and medial stretchers blocked at junction with legs and each other.Construction: Baluster and ring turned medial and end stretchers tenoned and pegged into four baluster and ring turned legs with turned feet; straight aprons tenoned and pinned into legs; drawer (replaced) let into one end of table, originally supported on central support tenoned into opposite apron and two side supports glued and nailed to side aprons; three-board top with thumbnail molded edges has batten ends nailed in position.
ProvenanceSource was the heir of Mr. Orr, the last life tenant of the Alexander Craig House on Duke of Gloucester Street in Williamsburg. Table came directly from the Craig House to CWF. Though he retired many years before his death, Mr. Off was an antique dealer and probably acquired this particular table in the trade.
