DescriptionWaistcoat fronts of cream satin, needleworked with scattered floral sprigs and undulating flowers and scrolls down fronts and in wide band across bottom, worked in deep burgundy and tan colors. Nine buttons on right side, covered with velvet applique, buttoned to button holes on left side, outlined with double cords. Waistcoat has been shortened by cutting above pockets and moving the bottom up. Technical notes: satin stitch, couching, applique, worked through linen backing.1780-1800
