DescriptionOriginally square tile with canted sides. Bluish tin glaze decorated in blue with a European landscape: an elegantly dressed fisherman sitting on a stump, pulling in a fish, within an octagonal reserve; Louis XV border and buttercup corners.Label TextTiles with this combination of corners and border are believed to be from Liverpool. This so-called Louis XV border also appears on CWF accession 1989-166, but with a different corner decoration, as well as on a transfer-printed tile (accession 1989-311).
