DescriptionTriangular kerchief of coral-pink sheer plain-woven silk, embroidered along two edges with colored silks and metallic threads in a pattern of pomegranate, flowers, curling leaves, floral scrolls, and zig-zag lines. Embroidery includes openwork areas at flower centers. Kerchief is cut diagonally on bias on the long end with the cut edge rolled and whipped.Label TextColorful silk and metallic embroidered kerchiefs such as this example were associated with Jewish weddings in Europe. They were worn by brides as a festive accessory.
