DescriptionApron of fine white cotton mull embroidered in muted polychrome silk in a chain stitch (point de chainette). In each bottom corner, is a spray of flowers with two tulips and leaves with drawnwork metallic cord fillings. There are also four smaller leaf clusters. The sprays are connected by a delicate swag and a band of yellow bell flowers. The edges of the apron are embroidered in drawnwork in black and metallic cord. The tie ribbons (not original) are woven linen ribbons with a picot edge and patterned with blue and green flowers from a supplementary warp.ProvenanceEx Coll.: Mrs. DeWitt Clinton Cohen
