DescriptionWoman's bonnet of golden plaited straw fashioned with deep brim framing the face. Crown gradually decreases in size, ending in a concave indention at the back of the head. Separate narrow neck "apron" is fastened to the lower edge. A single brown and blue striped satin ribbon trims the bonnet. Wrapped wire hidden under narrow strips of plaited straw run along the major seams to give the bonnet shape. No lining. Straw is in fragile condition.1830-1835
