DescriptionThis rectangular panel of fawn taffeta has a design of pink and green tobine stripes with scattered pink and blue flowers. There is a wide center stripe of pink tobine and fawn floats in a chevron texture. Outward from the center, the stripes alternate between thin green stripes and wide pink stripes. Over the stripes are loose stems of pink carnations and vines of blue flowers with yellow centers. The top and bottom edges are raw. The left and right edges are selvedges. The selvedge is 3/8” wide (60 warps) plain weave over grouped wefts. The outermost warp is corded. There is a machine stitch line along the top edge. A machine stitched hem was removed from the bottom edge. There are creases indicating that it was folded horizontally in fourths for storage.Label TextThe decorating firm Lenygon & Morant collected period textiles in order to reproduce or adapt them as interior decorating fabrics. This is one of their adaptations.
