DescriptionEcru silk satin bonnet with bucket crown, deep, wire-edged brim, and ruffle at neck. The hat is hand quilted overall in a pattern of shallow scallops arranged one above the other in vertical rows. The top of crown, neck flounce and ties are not quilted. The crown is stiffened with sized cotton and is unlined.ProvenanceFamily history indicates that this hat descended in the Wistar-Morris-Rumford families of Pennsylvania and Maryland.
