Main body of cap is cut in two pieces: a shaped piece around face, over the ears, and around to the lower back of head and a second piece forming the crown at back of head, shaped to curve over head with star-shaped darts radiating from center back. The darts are covered with tambouring. Ruffle all around cap is plain white fabric, edged with bobbin lace.ProvenanceFound in 1987 in the costume room of the First Congregational Church, Danbury, CT., where an active theater group had been using the room; sold in church bazaar in November of 1987.
