DescriptionWoman's cap of sheer white plain-woven cotton, chain-stitch embroidered, probably with tambour. Embroidered design consists of evenly spaced circles. Cap has narrow ruffle around the edges. The crown, or back of head, is finished with a bobbin lace insertion. Gathering string at center back.
ProvenanceFound in 1987 in the costume room of the First Congregational Church, Danbury, Ct., where an active theater group had been using the room; sold in church bazaar in November of 1987.
