DescriptionSide chair; serpentine cresting with carved ears outlined by bead molding; incuring stiles with similarly moulded front edges; rounded in back. Cresting and slats pierced in ribbon design; round hole in center around which ribbon pattern appears to encircle. "Square" seat frame with moulded front edges; plain skirts. Front legs straight; moulded in front; chamfered in rear. Rear legs also square; chamfered on inside, kick out at back. Plain, unmoulded, rectangular side, rear, and medial stretchers. Woods: Primary wood is mahogany with southern yellow pine slip seat frame and corner blocks.
MarkingsNumeral "III" stamped on rear seat rail; numeral "X" stamped on seat frame.
