DescriptionLow post bedstead: headposts with ball-shaped finials above two ring-shaped turnings over a reeded element octagonal in cross section over an element square in cross section with a lamb's tongue at top corners and fluting on outer edges only; legs are a continuation of headposts, square in cross section, fluted over entire height; and stop fluted on lower third; top of headboard shaped in a double serpentine line and straight across bottom; footposts with carved finial of a male bust on element square in cross section; legs are a continuation of footposts and a cabriole leg with shallow acanthus leaf carving on the knees and termination in a claw and ball foot; rails rectangular in cross section with holes bored at intervals for rope.Woods: Mahogany with maple rails; two outside faces of the front posts below the busts are veneered onto the posts themselves.
