DescriptionStaffordshire tortoiseshell-glazed creamware teapot and cover with slightly compressed spherical body raised on three mask-and-paw feet, and affixed with a crabstock spout and handle. The handle issuing onto either side of the pot a sprigged Tudor rose vine, the low cover with a flower-sprig knop, and both pieces sprinkled in manganese-brown with the sprigging picked out in green.ProvenancePurchased from David Newbon, London, England
