DescriptionAppearance: Turned armchair with original woven splint seat and traces of original red paint; stiles surmounted by knob finials; back composed of hoizontal crest rail and stay rail with two vertical banisters, between the banisters are two horizontal banisters with one vertical banister centered between them. All elements of the back have double ball turnings at each end; arms slightly shaped extend over the turned arm supports which extend up from the front legs; arm supports with double ball turning over a double baluster element; two stretchers between front legs and front and side legs; one stretcher between rear legs.ProvenanceThe chair descended in the Kelly family of Carthage area of Moore County, North Carolina .
