DescriptionFormal or court presentation coat of dark and light blue corded stripe silk taffeta, professionally embroidered with multicolored silk floss in a design of bouquets of roses, smaller flowers and ferns, with applied cream lace to form trim on fronts, on pocket flaps, cuffs, and back of coat. Colors of embroidery are pink, rose, shaded blues, yellow, gold, and greens. Coat has standing collar and is tapered sharply below waist, with deeply pleated back vent. Sleeves are cut to curve over elbows, ending in embroidered cuffs. Shaped pocket flaps cover functional pockets. 10 front buttons; two buttonholes are cut open. Three buttons trim each cuff and pocket flap.Construction History:

2. January 1958: Cleaning, checking, restoring by Ernest LoNano. Took piece from under cuffs and mended back of coat and collar, added net on collar and restored.
