DescriptionBaluster-type measure (double-volute thumbpiece); flat circular cover with two incised circles on face; cover attached to handle with hinge; double-volute thumbpiece with fleur-de-lis extension in front soldered to cover; face of handle below joint of hinge molded parallel to joint; baluster-shaped body with galleried rim and plain flared base; S-scroll strap handle of narrow D-shaped section with bud terminal soldered to rim and with lozenge-shaped attachment to lower section of body. MarkingsTouch mark "W+F" within a serrated rectangle on face of body below rim to right of handle (Peal MPM 5604b). Verification mark "WR" with a royal crown above on upper face of cover in center.
