Label TextThis spouted cup was intended for feeding an invalid or a baby. An otherwise identical example in the Warren Collection has a straighter spout, and the top opening nearest the spout is covered to prevent spilling if tipped too much. Other recorded examples also have the partly covered top opening. A bowl shaped container with the partly covered top opening and a spout illustrated in the Leeds catalog of 1814 is referred to as a "sick pot."
