DescriptionHigh post bedstead; all four posts turned; taper to widest circumference above frame where they are square; feet turned just below frame: swell-tapered/ baluster shaped. Headboard tennoned between headposts has simple double-arched top. Side rails of frame rebated every inch and 7/8th to house slats.Woods: posts, rails, and headboard are mahogany except for rail at head of bed which is of pine. This rail has evidence of knobs that have been cut off suggesting it is not original to this bed.
