DescriptionSaucer with shaped, brown lined edge divided into ten sections. The center surrounded by a red double lined circle painted in overglaze enamels in the "fable style" with a scene of "The Ox and the Rat" or "The Mouse and the Bull." The brown spotted ox has his head down and to the right facing a running rat. The grass is yellow; the trees are brown, yellow, and green; and the water and mountain blue.Raised anchor period.
Label TextThe fable "The Ox and the Rat" or "The Mouse and the Bull," painted within a double red band, decorates the saucer. The fable does not appear in either Barlow or Croxall.
