DescriptionFluted cup with lobed edge painted with brown line and scroll handle painted in polychrome overglaze enamels on the exterior with landscape of buildings, river and figures. A moth is painted on the reverse and a blue flower on the interior bottom.Label TextThe landscape decoration painted after Meissen is in the same red-brown and pastel colors of the wares painted by Chelsea decorator J. H. O'Neale but is not of the same quality. An attractive jewel like butterfly is painted on the side opposite the landscape.
