DescriptionPunch bowl with Chinese "Imari" decoration. Underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron oxide red enamel with gilt highlights and mustard-brown rim. Decoration is hand painted floral sprays to center and inside walls, with plum, cherry, and chrysanthemum flowers. The outside walls have two decorative scenes, both comprising an over scale floral spray in the background. One with a scroll depicting a garden before a river and mountain. The other, a fan depicting a garden before a mountain. Cool gray glaze over white-buff body, which is very finely potted. Pronounced, vertical foot below straight flaring body.
