DescriptionSilver-form oval dish with long curved spout and crabstock handle. Bluish tin glaze decorated in blue: on the exterior, a Chinese landscape and a pagoda; on the interior, a flower sprig; shell edging on rim.Label TextThis is the most common shape for delft sauceboats and seems to have been made in two sizes. The larger ones, about 8 1/2 inches long, usually are decorated with a European landscape. The smaller ones are decorated with this oriental scene. The London attribution is based on the shade of blue and the decoration.
