DescriptionA punch bowl painted in opaque enamels with opposing oval panels - one with European figures in a 'fête champêtre' scene, and the other with Asian figures playing musical instruments. The panels are separated by cartouches of exotic birds amidst stylized foliage and rockwork, each view reserved on a field of gilt foliate scrollwork. The well of the bowl is painted with a central floral spray and the interior rim is decorated with a border of gilt and iron-red bamboo entwined with floral sprigs. See 1980-218,1 for a similarly decorated bowl.ProvenanceAcquired from Sotheby Parke-Bernet, Inc.
