DescriptionWoman's gown of cotton, printed in spiky floral pattern in red, yellow, blue and brown on green ground. Bodice has raised waistline, wide rounded lowered neckline, closing at center front with squared points at waist. Sleeves are untrimmed and shaped to curve over elbows, ending just below elbow. Bodice and sleeves lined with tabby weave cotton. Skirt is pleated to bodice, with front drop panel fastened by ties reaching around waist, through buttonhole stitched loops on outside and tieing at back.1745-1750 (textile); gown ca. 1780, gown remade ca. 1845
