Row of eyelets form edging around face and neck. Center back has diamond-shaped insert. Cap has been repaired with different lace attached to the backside. No lining.ProvenanceFamily tradition states that this cap and another cap #1950-4,1 were used by John Baylor, who married Frances Courtenay Norton in 1778. The late date of both caps suggests that they were worn by a later family member.
