DescriptionThis is a rectangular blanket woven of natural white wool in twill weave. Both ends are finished with rolled hems that are overcast with angled stitches of pink and black wool. The hemmed ends are further ornamented with a zig-zag pattern of running stitches, alternating 1 blue and 2 pink lines. The sides are finished with the selvages. The blanket is woven of two panels, butted and seamed down the center. There are scattered mended holes.Label TextThis warm napped twill blanket descended in the family of the donor, whose West Virginia grandmother, Ann Priscilla Drummond (Mrs. Edmund Leach), is credited with having woven it. The natural white wool is further ornamented with running stitch needlework at both hem ends.
