DescriptionMan's cap of fine plain-woven white cotton embroidered in pale gold tussah silk using chain stitches. The needlework forms a pattern of delicate flowering sprays on the high domed crown and turned-up cuff, with a chain-like motif bordering the cuff. A cotton pompon finishes the top peak. Lining of white plain-woven textile, probably cotton.Label TextIndian needleworkers often used tussah silk, which was naturally pale yellow in color, not dyed.
