DescriptionChild's shoe of red leather edged with dark blue painted leather piping, likely ready-made in a shop. Shoe is made with high instep with a hole punched in either side for a lace tie.Ties are pulled through holes although they are likely not original to the shoe. Leather soles are made flat with no heels and are made as "straights" with no intended distinction between right and left. The shoe is lined with linen. Both shoes of the pair are joined by string for original display in shop, indicating their lack of use.

Construction History:
1. 1850-1870: Initial Construction
2. Unknown Date: Ties added to lace holes.
Label TextThis pair of child's shoes has never been worn. The shoes are still tethered with an original cord attached at the counters for display in a shop and to keep the pair together prior to sale.
