DescriptionSide chair, splat-back; serpentine cresting with central pierced circle; pierced, interlaced splat; straight seat rails with molded upper edge; slip seats original to chairs; straight front legs, square in cross-section and with molded outer edge and chamfered inner edge; back legs square in cross-section and flare to rear; side, rear, and medial stretchers rectangular in cross-section; note: side rails of seat are not morticed through back legs: arms on #6 boldly scrolled, terminating in deeply carved knuckles with central molding of a series of graduated carved ovals, and curved, uncarved arm supports.Woods: Primary: mahogany; Secondary: Southern pine seat frame, original slip seats, and some corner blocks (for details of corner blocks see Memo of August 25,1967)
