DescriptionThis ten-sided Chinese porcelain plate is painted in opaque enamels and gilding. The gilt rim is notched at the corners. An elaborate river landscape with pagodas decorates the center. The cavetto is banded with a gilt filled sepia double line and a gilt spearhead border. The rim is ornamented with five evenly spaced sprays of mixed flowers. The edge is gilded.Label TextThis octagonal Chinese export porcelain plate is decorated with a remarkably detailed opaque enamel river scene. The pairing of massive rocks and mountains with delicate flowering trees and manmade features creates a compelling landscape.
